Loose ends

Monday 8 July 2013

This week is dedicated to finish off some projects that have not progressed much in the past months. Everyday I will show a new finish, so that I can start on new and exciting projects this summer.

Sometimes it is nice to clear your desk and also have makes to show.

How do you deal with all your unfinished projects?

  1. I do try very hard not to flit from one project to another - but its so hard not to! Good luck.

  2. Hear, hear! Wonderful quote! On that note, off to study for that bar exam that's creeping up on me ;)

  3. Squish them in the cupboard and pretend they are not there. Looking forward to seeing your finishes.

  4. So true, so true.
I am desperate to finish my nearly finished outfit so that I can get on with my partially started outfit, finish that, then ahhhhhh - have a clean slate for the next one.

  5. I don't do well!! I actually found myself saying out loud this evening "No Karen. Don't start something else new. Do a bit more quilting, finish the damned thing!" which I suppose is good (I am clearly aware that I have FAR TOO MANY projects started) but my daughter did look at me like I was totally bonkers as I was putting away the new project I so badly want to start! I do agree with the quote though, I do find all these unfished things a bit unsettling. I think I shall make it my 'summer holiday task' this year - get some stuff finished! Oh, and clean the house!!!

  8. Was that directed at me? I am the queen of starting...not so good at the finishing. Perhaps I too should vow to not start anything else until I finish some of the things that are currently sitting around my house gathering dust.

  9. This is so true. I do have one big project and that's clearing out the dang office. Still procrastinating on that one.
But for fiber projects, I only have about two or so WIPs at a time which is all I can handle. That reminds me, I need to start the border on my niece's blanket.

  10. Love this quote! This is my year of finishes. I have been quilting and sewing for about 3 years and have yet to finish most of what I have started. For me this year I can not buy anything new to do until I finish at least 3 projects. I was able to start the Swoon 2013 on flickr just this month. It feels so good to finish things and it feels good to do some new things too! My stack of things to bind and finish is really going down. 11. Oh tricky. I like finishing one thing before starting the next but I must admit that I don't always do this. Cough I have two quilt tops that need basting, one half done, one cross stitch and a hexagon project... Not too good here either.
